eComm Inventory planned to transition from Catalog Item ID (catlg_item_id) grain to Walmart Item Number (wm_item_nbr) grain.

What you need to do: If you currently consume this table, review the planned structure below and prepare downstream queries, joins, pipelines, and other dependencies for the transition from catlg_item_id to wm_item_nbr.

What is changing

Replacement schemas for this table is planned at Walmart Item Number grain.

As part of the transition:

  • wm_item_nbr will replace catlg_item_id as the item-level grain.
  • External schema and composite primar keys will be updated to support the new grain.
  • Historical data is planned for the replacement schema.
  • The existing Catalog Item ID–grain is planned for decommission after customers have migrated.
  • Future annual-event unmasking will be supported on the Walmart Item Number–grain tables rather than the legacy Catalog Item ID–grain tables.
  • WPID will be removed from eComm Inventory.

Decommission Notice

🔴 Catalog Item ID–grain eCommerce tables

The existing Catalog Item ID (catlg_item_id) version of eComm Inventory is planned for future decommission.

Customers currently consuming this table should plan to transition downstream processes to the replacement wm_item_nbr structures.

This change is planned for October 28, 2026. Access to existing schemas is expected to end after 12:00PM CST. Beginning October 28, 2026 customers are expected to access the new schemas and structures. Customers should complete any required downstream updates before this transition.


🔴 Item Dimensions and Product Dimensions

Item Dimensions and Product Dimensions are planned for future decommission.

Use Omni Item Dimensions for new implementations and flat view relationships going forward.

Existing implementations should begin planning for the transition to Omni Item Dimensions.
