Step 2 Requesting Access
Because our APIs are deployed in isolated sandbox and production environments, you will next need to request access and obtain a unique Consumer ID and a version number before you can access our APIs. Please follow the below steps to request your Consumer ID and version number.
Before you begin:
Before you begin, you will need to have already generated a public and private key pair (otherwise called "RSA Keys" or "RSA") for each environment type you are requesting (sandbox and/or production).
For help generating your keys, please return to Step 1 and select your operating system.
Requesting Access
Once you've generated your access keys, complete the following:
-
Keep your private key(s) safe. This will be used to generate the Authentication Signature before making any API call. Your private key should be protected just as you would a password.
NOTE: Walmart is not responsible for your private key. Please keep your private key in a secure location.
-
Zip the public key file(s) and email it to Walmart through a regular business email at [email protected]. Please specify NRT access.
-
Once Walmart has processed your request, you will receive your Consumer ID(s) and version number from [email protected]. Please allow approximately 3-5 days.
Please remember to only submit the public keys to Walmart. Keep your private keys in a safe and secure location to use later.
You will then use your Consumer ID, private key, and version number for the next step: Generating Signatures.
